About
I hold a M. Sc. in Physics Engineering (1989), from the Univ. of Bucharest - Faculty of Physics and a Ph.D. in Plasma Physics (1998) awarded by the Institute of Atomic Physics (IFA), Magurele. My current position is Senior Research Scientist 2 at the Natl. Inst. for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics (INFLPR) and head of the Quantum Hub. The research portfolio spans interests such as ion traps and quantum technologies, optical atomic clocks used as ultraprecise quantum sensors to perform new searches for physics Beyond the Standard Model (BSM), time and frequency transfer (TFT) techniques, strongly coupled Coulomb plasmas and secure quantum communications (QC). Other interests span areas such as teaching physics, operating systems (FreeBSD, NetBSD, ArchLinux, Debian), programming (Python, C++), history, foreign languages.
